Stop Waiting for Purpose to Find You

You can care deeply about faith, family, work, health, service, and leadership, then watch your calendar reward whatever arrives loudest.

That does not mean purpose is missing. It may mean purpose has not been given a repeatable place in your week.

Episode 3 begins with Shawn Collins’ original quote: “Purpose isn’t found by accident; it’s forged by consistent intentionality.” The episode asks one direct question: What purpose are your repeated choices already proving?

Shawn grounds the lesson in Proverbs 16:9: “A man’s mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” The passage does not tell us to stop planning. It places planning under God’s direction. The practical posture is clear: plan faithfully, hold the outcome humbly, and remain willing to adjust.

Shawn also shares why What Moves First almost stayed silent. The show was rebuilt close to 100 times before a conviction during prayer and a run moved the work from preparation into release.

The episode closes with one practical move. Schedule a 30-minute purpose check within seven days. Review the five circles of influence, choose one circle, write one working purpose sentence, schedule one visible behavior, and tell one person who will know whether you followed through.

You do not need to finish the question of purpose this week. You need to give purpose one piece of evidence.

Your Next Move

  1. Schedule one 30-minute purpose check.
  2. Choose one circle: Self, Family and close friends, Team, Organization, or Community.
  3. Write: In this part of my life, I am called to…
  4. Choose and schedule one visible behavior.
  5. Tell one person and send a completion note within 24 hours after the action.

One quote. One week. One move that changes what follows.
