FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Evansville, IN – May 7, 2025 — Leadership consultant and former youth coach Shawn Collins has announced the official launch of the BETTER Coaching Cohort, a 6-month, in-person training program for coaches looking to strengthen team culture, improve communication, and lead with greater clarity. Powered by BETTER and hosted in partnership with D-BAT Evansville, the program kicks off on Sunday, July 6, 2024.

“Coaches carry far more responsibility than managing plays and lineups—they shape the leadership environment that defines everything else,” said Collins, a certified BETTER Coach and Founder of ShawnCollins.com. “This cohort is about equipping coaches with tools to build trust, communicate clearly, and develop players purposefully. You already coach the game—now, it’s time to lead the culture.”

The program blends BETTER’s nationally proven leadership content with Collins’ personal facilitation and regional expertise. Participants receive full access to the BETTER Membership platform—used by NCAA coaching staffs, Athletic Directors, and business executives nationwide—alongside monthly in-person sessions at D-BAT Evansville from 6–8 PM CST.

Each coach enrolled will receive:

  • Six cohort sessions led by Collins (first Sunday of each month, July–December)
  • The BETTER Culture Playbook ($199 value)
  • Tools for managing mindset, trust, and team dynamics
  • Access to a national community of like-minded leaders

The investment is $899 per coach, with discounts available to D-BAT members. Registration is limited to 20 coaches to preserve engagement and impact. D-BAT Evansville has secured a 12-month exclusivity agreement covering a 50-mile radius for the delivery of this program.

“This partnership is personal,” Collins said. “I’ve coached for 13+ years. I’ve done it wrong. I’ve done it right. And now, I want to help others grow without guessing how leadership works. There’s a better way—and I believe this is it.”

“As a facility, we’re committed to more than just athlete development—we want to equip the coaches who shape these programs every day,” said Chris Stratman, Owner of D-BAT Evansville. “Shawn brings the right experience, passion, and platform to help us develop stronger leaders in the dugout and beyond.”

Coach the game. Lead the culture.
